Economics & Software Development
Updated: Jul 17, 2021
When it comes to software development an invaluable influence has to be Economics. Or perhaps it's predecessor, Praxeology. Within these, two ideas are especially useful when applied broadly and with imagination.
First is to distil complex requirements into a common sense framework, as defined by the social, commercial or educational reason for the platform. This clarifies the value chain and provides direction.
The second is to understand user behaviour from the standpoint of our motivations and expectations, in their shoes. Two fundamental ideas, yet they span much that is needed to deliver seamless digital design and development.
